Design a pitch to grace the world’s finest pitch

Ahh! The joy of working on a bid project where attention to detail and design craft combine to make a big impact. Gleeds partnered with international architects Populous to present a master plan for the development of Lord’s cricket ground (owned by Marylebone Cricket Club / MCC).

A few points of design interest: The title ‘MCC Pitch’ is foiled onto a white emboss pattern which mirrors the mowing pattern on the Lord’s pitch itself. Orange and yellow?! Inspired by MCC’s world-famous logo.

One of the Gleeds team is the Great, Great Grandson of legendary England batsman Arthur Shrewsbury – who, as you probably know, was Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1890.
